Miss Anita (Owner): Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical & Tap
This is Miss Anita's 39th year of teaching dance in the East Hartford area! Miss Anita started taking dance lessons at the Miss Betty- Ann Gentino School of Dance when she was a little girl. She continues to nurture her own education in the dance arts regularly to benefit her students by keeping current with new dance techniques and styles. She has taken class with some of the greatest choreographers and dancers of this time, which include but are not limited to Frank Hatchett, Bob Rizzo, Savion Glover & MANY others. With her involvement at the presidential level in the 20th Chapter of N.A.D.A.A (National Association of Dance and Affiliated Artists), Miss Anita hires teaches from all over the world to teach at N.A.D.A.A. conventions where she and her students expand their breadth of knowledge in dance. She has always been a devoted and involved member of the East Hartford community and has taught for the summer program at Parks & Recreation for several years and currently choreographs/coaches both the E.H. High School Showchoir Jazzappella AND the junior Showchoir at E.H. Middle School 6-7-8 Incorporated! Miss Anita has won many awards over the years at competition with her students and with her showchoirs, but her most coveted award has been when she was voted "Best Dance Studio" by the community during the 2003-2004 Hartford Advocat's Reader's Poll. Miss Anita also had the great opportunity to choreograph for the Radio Disney Dancers, who performed at many Radio Disney functions and concerts! Miss Anita strives to provide her students with an exciting and fun environment while offering an abundant experience in the dance arts!
Miss Alexis: Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical & Tap
Miss Alexis has been dancing since she could walk and talk. Now at 23, she has just completed her 8th year of teaching for our studio! After graduating in Spring 2009 from UConn with her B.F.A. in Illustration she landed a job as a Graphic Artist, working in the advertising department at Bob’s Discount furniture. Being a part of the advertising team has also garnered her a bit of small town fame in their more recent commercials! Aside from her love of the visual arts that she works with from 9 to 5, she still nurtures her love for dance as her creative medium here at our studio!
Miss Cheryl: Acro - Gymnastics
Miss Cheryl was a student of mine, and as a teenager she was one of the stars of her high school gymnastics team at East Hartford High School. She has used her talents to become a great acro - gymnastics teacher whom we feel privileged to have on our staff. Miss Cheryl does a fantastic job year after year. She goes above and beyond her call of duty to do whatever it takes to achieve the best results for our students in her classes. From ribbon dancing to lunch trays her ideas are always unique, fresh and exciting!
Miss Corey: Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical & Tap
Miss Corey has just completed 30 years here at our studio. She started with me as a toddler and has grown with our studio! She then began teaching as an assistant at a young age, and soon after became a teacher herself. She has carefully crafted her talents to be a wonderful dancer, teacher & choreographer. She is truly an asset to our studio and adds something special to all she touches.
Miss Jackie: Acro - Gymnastics, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical & Tap
Miss Jackie is truly important to our studio. She too started as a toddler and has grown with our studio! It has been a joy to see how she has matured into a wonderful dancer, teacher & choreographer. The students are continually motivated by her style, energy and creativity. We're always excited to have her on staff because she has so many fantastic ideas of her own. However, the best part is that she is also always willing to collaborate, and through those collaborations extraordinary things happen!
